GERARD A. MERCIER—HIGH RIVER DENTURE CLINIC IN ALBERTA

Gerard A. Mercier has been providing implant denture solutions, in addition to conventional removable complete and partial dentures, since 1985 and has lectured on the subject across Canada since 1989. He continues his ongoing pursuit of excellence with extensive continuing education.

2015 – Recipient of the Alberta Denturist Order of Merit
2008 - 2014 – Elected as a member of the College of Alberta Denturists (CAD) Council
2011 - Banff – Lectured for the CAD conference
2007 - Jasper – Lectured for the CAD conference
2006 - 2008 – Lectured across Canada on implant denture prosthetic treatment for Nobel BioCare
2006 – Became the first Denturist asked to speak at Nobel BioCare World Conference in Montreal, Quebec
2004 - 2005 – Conference Planning Committee for the College of Alberta Denturists
1994 – Vice President of the Alberta Denturist Society; recognized for contribution in the provision of Partial Denture Legislation in Alberta
1991 – Bestowed a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Denturism (F.C.A.D.)
1987 – Elected to the Alberta Denturist Society executive – served 7 years
1987 – Elected to the Alberta Denturist Society Board of Directors – 7 years, Convention Chair – 3 years, Mediation Services Committee – 2 years

Co-developed updated charting and record-keeping documents for the Alberta Denturist Society
Through Kindness in Action, he travelled to Central America (Honduras and Guatemala) on seven occasions as a volunteer making dentures for rural and indigent people
Mentored 8 student denturists during the various training programs for licensure
Hosted the first BPS® certification course

HIGH RIVER – HOME AND HEART

Gerard Mercier has made High River, Alberta his home since 1985. Along with his wife Heather, he has raised two children and has been an active member of the community. He has housed five exchange students from other countries for the Rotary Exchange Student program and volunteered with Kindness in Action providing dental solutions to folks in Honduras and Guatemala. His hobbies include cars, photography, travel and exploring, golf, as well as coaching hockey and baseball. He also enjoys entrepreneurship and helping people with dental rehabilitation whenever possible.
